The robbe FS 251 T (Torque) and FS 251 S (Speed) digital servos are reasonably priced units which incorporate the latest servo technology. <
The servos retain all the proven qualities of the first generation, but now feature a one-piece circuit board, wireless motor installation and a lower-profile gearbox design. The core of the servo is the latest 8-bit micro-processor with 12-bit A/D converter, which provides a resolution of 4096 steps, corresponding to a servo travel of around 0.04°. The processor incorporates the latest Flash technology, which means that its software can be updated at any time to keep abreast of developments.
robbe digital servos can also be programmed by the user with access to a PC. This requires the RX 232 Box interface lead, No. 8170, the servo adaptor, No. 8173, and the free CAMI 2000 software. Using the CAMI 2000 software allows the following functions to be programmed: direction of rotation, delay (up to 13 seconds), end-point settings, switched or proportional mode, fail-safe - hold mode and regulatory characteristics. The powerful 5-pole motor transmits power to a twin-ballraced precision-machined gearbox which includes metal gears. A carefully selected mixture of materials in the gearbox ensures a long useful life and slop-free operation. The output gear is made of dural (hard aluminium), which is a very light, hard material. Another outstanding feature of the servo is the integral RX filter, which suppresses invalid signals and sets the servo to hold-mode if no signal is present. This means that the servo maintains the last "good" servo position until the receiver again supplies a valid signal.
The FS 251 T servo is an excellent choice for any application where greater servo power than normal is required, e.g. as dive plane servo in model submarine, swashplate servo in helicopters, as the steering servo for buggies, and as a wing-mounted servo for power models.
